The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club’s much anticipated 2015 TCL Cricket Academy and Republic Bank Grade 6 Summer Camp which bowls off at the Area ‘H’ Ground on Tuesday 7th July, 2015 from 9:00 am.
The RHTYSC is catering for 100 young cricketers between the ages of 8 to 18 for the cricket academy which would be conducted by coaches Winston Smith and Delbert Hicks, while Senior Teacher Rohan Etwaru would be in charge of the expected 60 students at the Republic Bank Summer Camp for Grade 6 students.
Spaces are available for both programmes and interested parents are asked to call the club on Telephone No. 337 – 4562 for more information.
Plans for both the cricket academy and summer camp are on stream and corporate Guyana continues to support the RHTYSC plans to keep youths meaningfully occupied during the summer holiday.
Among the entities coming on board are the Bank of Nova Scotia, Len’s Craft, Guyana Beverage Company, H.A. Snacks Co. Ltd, F and H Printery, DeSinco Trading, Food for the Poor (Guy) Ltd, Tiger Sports, Bakewell and Demerara Distillers Ltd.
The Bank of Nova Scotia, Len’s Craft, Food for the Poor and F & H Printery donated a large
quantity of educational materials.
DeSinco contributed cosmetics hampers for outstanding students, Sheik Mohamed contributed two trophies for the top performers of the cricket academy, while Bakewell and H.A. Snacks Co. Ltd donated snacks.
The Guyana Beverage Co. Ltd and Demerara Distillers Ltd contributed a large amount of soft drinks to the cricket academy.
Secretary/CEO of the RHTYSC Hilbert Foster expressed gratitude to the donors and stated that his executives are working beyond the call of duty to make sure that every system is in place for the successful hosting of the cricket academy and summer camp.
The RHTYSC, Foster noted would be using the academy to identify at least 40 young cricketers for its junior teams as it strives to remain one of the leading cricket team in Guyana.
He extended an invitation to other clubs in Berbice to send at least five of their members to be a part of the academy as the aim is to make sure that Berbice Cricket continues to excel.
