Dear Editor,
A letter under the name Edmund Syfox was published in the Kaieteur News on Sunday, June 28, 2015 seems to hit the proverbial nail on the head. Mr. Syfox argues quite convincingly that the PPP knew fully well quite early in the game that they had lost the May 11 elections, and that was why some of them involved themselves in the immoral transfer of State assets.
However, that extremely credible assertion has other logistical sequences. For example, if by the Monday night of May 11 or latest by Tuesday morning/midday May 12 the PPP knew the results expressing their loss, then it would be the right time to begin deconstructing GECOM’s credibility. What better way than to willingly and iniquitously introduce false Statements of Poll (SoPs)? By whom? We may never find the answer to that.
Who would ever think in the remotest consideration of elections perpetrations that such wickedness would be carried out? Only Party loyalists and diehard fanatics would attempt such vicious immorality. Or it could be those who are afraid that they could lose their well-paid positions on the Commission itself. After all, they would have the motive and the opportunity. And further, before and after the May 11 elections, PPP Commissioners have publicly and covertly behaved in a most blatantly partisan way.
The miscreants must have known that the GECOM system would identify the fake Statements of Poll. Two Statements of Poll would not arrive with the same Ballot Box number and not be investigated. The fake Statements of Poll would also not have the security features and therefore would never be entered in the system and be counted. GECOM has explained this over and over.
That leaves us with the motive being not to change numbers associated with the Final Count. Rather solely to throw in doubt and consciously confuse the management of the election. And the PPP continues to shamelessly pursue this and other evils, which harms the cohesion of this nation. Shame on you!
K. Williams
