The management of Puran Brothers Disposal Inc., has said that it has never been part of the construction and operations of the Haags Bosch Sanitary Landfill Facility located in Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
The comments came in response to a statement issued by BK International, two days ago.
“Our company has participated in a joint venture arrangement with BK International, which saw the company as a member of the joint venture team subsequently being awarded the contract to build and operate the new facility,” a statement from Puran Brothers said.
The company claimed that while it was preparing to perform its role in the operations, it was unfortunately barred from all aspects of the project by the leading partner, BK International.
The company stated that it would not be held responsible for worksite accidents with resulting injuries or death, any negative environmental impact or any form of mismanagement pertaining to the operations of the Landfill Facility.
“In spite of our exclusion from the Haags Bosch Sanitary Landfill contract, we are ready to perform all necessary remedial works and take on the day to day operations of the facility.
“With over 20 years of experience in solid waste management and an established track record in managing and rehabilitating other landfills, we are convinced that our company can operate the Haags Bosch Sanitary Landfill Facility within the confines of international accepted standards.
