In what seems to have been a ‘log’ sleep, Fiona King, 26, of Lot 3 Area ‘B’ Goedverwagting, was robbed for the second time in two months. This time the attack was in the wee hours Wednesday.
King, a mother of one is an entrepreneur who owns and operates”Queen Fiona Fashion Diary Boutique” at her home.
After going into a deep sleep the entrepreneur woke up to a shock. Yesterday when Kaieteur News reporter contacted King, she was quite calm but contended that the incident is really a setback.
She said that she and her five-year-old son were locked in one of the five bedrooms in the house fast asleep, while the intruders cleared out electronic items, food stuff and drinks.
Kaieteur News understands that King resided with her son, her aunt and a cousin (a male) who moved in just a few months ago.
Two cell phones were removed from her cousin’s room, which was left open. He too was fast asleep. According to her, he has indicated that he did not hear or see anything.
The other rooms including that of her aunt who is not around was locked, so the perpetrators were not able to gain access to those rooms.
However they were able to cart off a 42″ LG flat screen television set, an LG desktop computer, in excess of $300,000, the keys to her boutique and a pair of sneakers. And as if that was not enough, she said that her wine bar was also cleaned out of the bottles of alcohol by the apparently hungry invaders who carried away food stuff from the refrigerator.
The intruders are said to have gained access through a bedroom on the second floor of the two-story house.
She said that during the previous intrusion, her boutique which she has been operating for over two years was ‘cleaned’ out by the perpetrators who managed to escape unnoticed. King has recorded a loss of $2 million in clothes, fans, mannequins, footwear and a variety of other items in that intrusion which occurred a few days before Easter this year.
The boutique which is located beneath the house was shut down, and King had all hopes of reopening in August, but she now has doubts about that being possible since her losses have been further inflicted.
There is the view that the two intrusions might have been perpetrated by the same persons. The matter was reported to the Plaisance Police Station and investigations are continuing.
