City Magistrate Fabayo Azore released a labourer on $100,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to a robbery charge.
The allegation against Clifton John, 24, of BlueBerry Hill, Linden, stated that on May 18, at Linden, he robbed Shawn Fill of one Blackberry Z10 cell phone and $8,000 cash.
The charge further stated that immediately before, during or after the robbery he made use of personal violence towards Fill.
The Prosecutor did not provide the court with any facts about what transpired on the day in question. But she objected to bail on the ground that the defendant has pending matters of a similar nature before the court.
However, the Prosecutor’s objections were overruled by the Magistrate and the defendant was granted bail.
This matter was adjourned to Monday, when the defendant will appear before the Chief Magistrate.
