The rainy season is here again and the sorry story is replaying itself all over.
Many parts of the more than 250 miles long Linden/Lethem roadway are almost impassible, with at least part being totally washed away.
Near Annai, in the Rupununi, Region Nine, an entire section of the trail has broken away due to the fast flowing waters from the nearby mountains. Travellers were forced to construct a makeshift bridge to cross.
Reportedly the Ministry of Infrastructure has been seeking to conduct emergency works along sections.
The trail is a critical link between Guyana and Brazil and serves as a main artery to border area, Lethem, mining and logging areas, and several communities.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
