Dear Editor,
It has been over one year now since I expressed my disgust at an illegal practice that took place in Sisters Village East Bank Berbice. On January 13, 2014, it was published in Kaieteur News. I wish to remind those in authority, specifically the police force, that this illegal act is perpetual and nothing was done about it. I also wish to remind them that the location where this illegal gambling is being done has not changed. It is a spot that is recognized to be a wash bay some three hundred metres away from the Sisters Police Station. This illegal act is affecting the lives of many, especially our children. Many children are now seen doing same at various locations. Are the police a part of this illegal act? Why was nothing done to stop this illegal gambling? Again, I request that those in authority take the necessary actions to stop this illegal act.
Worried Resident.
