St. Roses High School got off to a hot start in two categories in their 2015 campaign in the National Schools’ Basketball Festival (NSBF) Georgetown Conference which got underway at the Marian Academy Hard Court on Friday.
St. Roses defeated Bishop’s High School 35-21 in the Under-14 Category of the competition with Kwesi Roberts pouring in 11 points and seven rebounds. Roberts received support from Colson Richards, who had eight points. For Bishop’s, Stefan Hamilton had 13 points and eight rebounds.
St. Roses then returned to dish out a thrashing for Saint Stanislaus College 78-15 in the Under-19 Category with Pacesetters junior star guard, Nathan Saul dumping in 27 points. Anfernee Jervis supported with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. For Saints, Kadeem Bowen was the only player in double figures with 11 points.
Government Technical Institute (GTI) then secured a one-point 37-36 victory against Bishop’s High in the U-19 group. Terrence Daniels scored 12 points and six rebounds for GTI while for Bishop’s Timothy Thompson had 10 points and 15 rebounds.
