The West Demerara Cricket Umpires Association (WDCUA) will be hosting a double wicket competition at Wales starting at 09:00 hrs0 tomorrow. The tournament will be played with coloured clothing and white balls.
Entrance fee is $3,000 per pair and the winning side will pocket a trophy and $50,000, the runner up a trophy and $25,000; there will also be other incentives. The first 30 teams entered will be accepted.
Clubs slated to take part are Cultural SC, Independence SC, Wales CDC, Long Pond, All Youths, Invaders, Zeeburg, Leonora, Meten-Meer-Zorg, Tuschen, Uitvlugt, Cornelia Ida, McGill SC, Malvern and Tiger SC.
Among the sponsors on board are Banks DIH, Giftland Office Max, Rakesh Pharmacy, Fatboy Discount Store, N.D&S Furniture Store, Country Side Agri Centre, Universal Drug Store, Country Side General Store, Nadira Grocery and Tiger Sports.
