After pleading guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter on March 10 in the High Court and awaiting sentencing, wife- killer Rudolph London was on Tuesday, sentenced to three years imprisonment after pleading guilty to a drug possession charge.
London, 43, pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on March 2, at the Camp Street Prison, he had 8 grams of cannabis in his possession.
Magistrate Fabayo Azore also ordered that he pay a fine of $10,000.
He initially pleaded not guilty to the offence, but decided to change the plea after telling the court he was already in prison for another offence.
London is currently serving a six month sentencing for having three and a half grams of cannabis in his possession. He was found with the illegal drug on November 23, 2014 at the Camp Street prison.
London is accused of killing his reputed wife Shundell Warrick. The woman was allegedly beaten with a cutlass while she was visiting the Best Village, West Coast Demerara residence of her in laws on January 1, 2011.
He is expected to know his fate today when he appears before Justice Franklyn Holder.
The matter against him was put down for a two- week period pending a probation report, which was requested by his lawyer, Adrian Thompson.
