Head Coach of Guyana’s Senior Men’s Basketball Team that defeated Bermuda in a three-game International Series last week, Darcel Harris and his Assistant, Marlon Rodrigues have received FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Coaching License.
Guyanabasketball.com announced yesterday that it registered Harris (License N°: 2015502993) and Rodrigues (License N°: 2015502996) “under the FIBA umbrella”. The website “has paved the way” for eight coaches to receive the FIBA Coaching License, it said.
The Guyana Amateur Basketball Coaching Association (GABCA) extended congratulations to Harris and Rodrigues on becoming registered FIBA Coaches. “You have both done your country proud on the recent success,” the GABCA said in a press release.
The association extended gratitude to Guyanabasketball.com on ensuring that Guyana has FIBA License Coaches. This is especially important as the country continues to reposition the sport on the regional and international spectrum.
Guyana’s other FIBA licensed coaches are Andrew Hercules (License N°: 2015502917); Mark Agard (License N°: 2014501941); Brian Carter (License N°: 2014501942); Ann Gordon (License N°: 2014501945); Troy Greene (License N°: 2014501944); Kevin Joseph (License N°: 2014501943); Robert Cadogan (License N°: 2007019160); Bernard Daniels (License N°: 2007019163) and Sydwell Glasgow (License N°: 20090221).
