Defending NACRA 15s champions Guyana will commence the defence of its title
this Saturday with an opening clash against Barbados at the National Park. The national ruggers familiarly known as the ‘Green Machine’ has intensified preparations ahead of the scheduled engagement against the Bajans who’re expected to arrive in the country on Friday.
The national team now under the guidance of Australia-based Technical Director Angus Thomson was seen on Saturday in a practice game against a Rest Side on a soggy outfield at the National Park.
When questioned about whether the venue will be ready for the encounter, President of the Union Peter Green said that every effort will be made to drain the outfield of the water should the inclement weather persist, while a pump will be stationed at the ground on game day in the event of any rain.
