Police and St. Stanislaus recorded victories when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/New Building Society second division 40-over tournament continued last weekend.
At Everest, Police defeated the host by 30 runs. Batting first, Police scored 184-9 from their reduced quota of 26 overs. Chien Gittens stroked 78 (4×4, 6×6) and Troy Benn 54 (8×4).
T. Persaud and Khemraj Ramdeen picked up two wickets each. Everest was restricted for 114-8 in 26 overs in reply. Persaud made 28 and Denesh Mangal 16. Eon Rodrigues and Vishal Jaigobin claimed two scalps apiece.
At GYO, St. Stanislaus overcame the home team by three wickets. GYO were routed for 86 in 19 overs, taking first knock. Siddiq Mohamed cracked 27; Lindon Wilson bagged 5-23. St. Stanislaus responded with 90-7 in 16 overs. R. Deonarine got 24 not out and S. Bacchus 15. Antonio De Freitas picked up 4-19 and Andre Foster 2-7.
