The Linden region of the People’s National Congress/Reform donated a quantity of medical books to the Charles Rosa School of Nursing, Tuesday.
Presenting the books on behalf of the PNC/R was Regional Chairman Sharma Solomon who said that previously, books were donated to individual students.
This time around, with the insistence of final year student, Cephanna Glasgow, Chairman of the Education Committee of the School, the books were donated to the school instead.
According to the Librarian Ms. Pamela Duke, it is better to make the donation to the school library. “If you give individual students they will go away with the resources but when it is donated to the library every batch that enters the school would benefit.”
It was the students’ initiative to seek a donation for the library, Ms Duke said.
The Regional Chairman said that he is pleased to make such a contribution on behalf of the party. “The party is for education so we would assist in any way possible.”
Solomon noted that the Party is in the process of setting up Research Centres which would benefit students as a whole, “One is already in operation at the Wesleyan Church in Christianburg. Another will soon be operational.”
The Regional Chairman said that he is impressed with the quality of nurses produced by the Charles Rosa School of Nursing. He also promised to assist the school in whatever resources possible to ensure there is quality health care.
