Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) recorded victories when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/New Building Society second division 40-over tournament continued on Saturday last.
At Gandhi Youth Organisation, DCC thumped the host by 83 runs. DCC took first strike and posted 240-5 in 40 overs. Ronaldo Renee scored 61 (11×4), Lawrence Smith cracked 59 (8×4, 2×6), Malcolm Hubbard made 33 and Raymond Perez 26.
GYO were sent packing for 159 in 29.1 overs in reply. Tritlon Liverpool scored 51, Trevon France 31 and Garfield De Roche 30. Clitus Johnson grabbed 4-18, Colin Mc Ewan 3-27 and Utom Munroe 3-34.
At Bourda, GCC beat Ace Warriors by eight wickets. Batting first Ace Warriors were routed for 119 in 26 overs. Devon Lord, Ronaldo Mohamed, Winston Forrester and Gavin Singh picked up two wickets each.
GCC replied with 120-2 in 20 overs. Martin Pestano Belle led with 44 not out, Forrester scored 43 and Singh an unbeaten 26.
