The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) Silver Jubilee anniversary celebrations continue to attract support from the corporate sector with three major business entities making contributions to the club.
The donations are a major boost to the RHTY&SC which aims to complete a record breaking 200 programmes/activities in 2015 in their yearlong 25th anniversary celebration. Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster disclosed that the programmes would be organised by the entity’s Sports, Pro-Education, Anti-Drugs, Charity Youth Development Awards initiatives and are all aimed at making a positive difference in the lives of youths, the elderly and less fortunate.
The club’s Cricket Development Programme received a timely donation of two dozen cricket balls compliments of Ming’s Products & Service of Urquhart Street, Georgetown while Mr. Bish Panday of P&P Insurance Brokers and John Fernandes Ltd made substantial financial contributions.
The financial contribution from John Fernandes Ltd and P&P Insurance Brokers would be used in the club’s ‘Say Yes to Sports’ project which seeks to promote sports as a safe alternative for youths from a life off drugs and crime.
Foster expressed gratitude to Mr. Colin and Stanley Ming, Mr. and Mrs. Panday and the Management of John Fernandes Ltd for the donations while reassuring the donors that the RHTY&SC would use it for the intended purpose.
Foster also disclosed that the club’s teams are undergoing a re-development period after losing several players to retirement, migration and lack of interest. Representatives of the three companies extended congratulations to the club on attaining 25 years whilst wishing them more success in the future.
