John Flores was re-elected President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) for the next four years when that entity held its Annual General
Meeting on Sunday last at the Olympic House, Kingston, Georgetown.
Flores was returned unopposed with successful Under-19 Coach Levy Nedd elected Vice President. Ms. Leonna Bradford will serve as Treasurer while Nicholas Fraser was elected as Secretary. Assistant Secretary is Ms. Shauntel Maloney.
After much discussion on several matters, it was suggested that a Marketing Officer position be created to market the sport and it was unanimously agreed that filling that slot would be Mark Bradford.
Mr. Flores mentioned that in the very near future, it is his desire to make the game the number three sport in Guyana. The Berbice and Demerara Volleyball Associations were well represented at the AGM, the Essequibo Association was absent. The first committee meeting is set for February 7.
