Entries for the Georgetown Softball Cricket League Inc. (GSCL) Republic Cup tournament will be closed at 14:00 hrs tomorrow.
The tournament will be launched on Wednesday 29 at GNIC Sports Club, while the drawing of fixtures will be done in a fair and transparent manner the said day.
The first eight teams that registered will be allowed to compete. The tournament will be played in the Open and Over-40 categories, with both division lasting for 20 overs and carries a first prize of $300,000 with the runner-up taking home $100,000, along with trophies and medallions.
Teams desirous of competing in the tournament which will be played at the Demerara Cricket Club, Everest Cricket Club and Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) grounds, are asked to submit their registration fees of $60,000 for both categories, to GSCL Inc Treasurer Russell Jadbeer (626-8228 or 226-4205) at 69 Seaforth Street, Campbellville.
Admission to all venues, including Everest which will host the final on February 8, is free and playing conditions which will be distributed at the time of the launching. For more information teams can call Samuel Kingston on 614-9536.
