Led by outstanding performances from Shawn Massiah and Charwayne Mc Pherson, Transport Sports Club (TSC) defeated Queenstown Masjid by
four wickets in a 12-over tapeball encounter played Monday last at Muslim Youth Organisation ground.
Queenstown Masjid batted first and scored 101-7 off their allotted overs. Abdul Austin and Gamaal Khan featured in a fourth wicket stand of 76 after they lost a few early wickets.
Austin slammed five fours and two sixes in a top score of 55 while Khan struck 25 (2×4). Massiah captured 4-16 while Joshua Wilson and Akeem Redmond had one each.
Medium pacers Majeed Khan and Azaar Ameer made early inroads, reducing TSC to 45-4 before Mc Pherson and Massiah steadied the chase with a fifth wicket stand of 48. Mc Pherson clobbered four fours and three sixes in an unbeaten 50 while Massiah was dismissed for 15. Khan finished with 2-20 and Ameer 2-25. TSC received a trophy. The game was organized by Queenstown Masjid.
