Overseas-based alumni of the Brickdam Secondary School, on Thursday last, donated a substantial quantity of school supplies and appliances to the educational institute. The donation was done through the Brickdam Secondary Alumni Association Inc., New York Chapter.
The school received a number of items for their English, Mathematics, Spanish, Geography, Social Studies, Information Technology and Agriculture Science Departments. The educational supplies were presented to representative teachers from each department.
Vice President of the Brickdam Secondary School Old Student’s Association, Guyana Chapter, Michelle Stewart explained that proceeds came from the New York Chapter’s annual August Summer Party. She related that the overseas-based former students make annual donations to the institute around the Christmas Season in an effort to bolster the educational capabilities of their old secondary school.
A number of teachers expressed their gratitude for the items, as they viewed them as ways to increase the educational capacity of the school.
