Chief Instructor of the Guyana Wado-Ryu Karate Association Shian Compton Winston Dunbar has been
awarded the seventh degree black belt in Wado-Ryu Karate by the Wado-Ryu Academy of Guyana in collaboration with the Martial Arts Federation International of England.
Shian Dunbar said he was elated to be upgraded to seventh degree black belt, the highest ranking for Wado-Ryu karate style in Guyana.
Dunbar has been a practitioner of Wado-Ryu Karate since 1967 and was made Technical Adviser by Grand Master Hironori Ohtsuka 11 on June 1, 2005.
Shian Dunbar instructs classes at Banks DIH Sports Club, Mae’s and Eccles Primary Schools weekly.
Meanwhile, Grading Exercise will take place next weekend at Banks DIH Sports Club while the end of year Social Event of the Guyana Wado-Ryu Karate Association will take place on December 20th at the same venue.
