…victim remains critical
While police are still investigating the circumstances under which 20-year-old electrician Devon Howell was shot to his neck at Dandrade Street, Kitty last Friday, a member of his family released some details she received on the shooting.
According to his cousin, Natalie Howell, the shooting occurred at Lot 100 Dandrade Street, Kitty, at the home of Howell’s friend, a rank of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF).
She alleged that the soldier “accidently shot Devon to his neck”, while he was “unloading a gun”.
She said the gun either belonged to the accused soldier or another GDF rank who was at the residence.
“Devon was liming with Woolford (the accused soldier), another GDF rank and his friend Daniel. He does go there every day to hang-out,”she related.
Reports indicate that Woolford is currently in police custody at the Sophia Police Station where he was escorted by ranks of the GDF, to assist with investigations.
His mother, Allison Howell, is hopeful that her son will recover soon.
