Competition in the East Demerara Football Association, Stag Beer sponsored Senior League continued this past weekend at the Victoria ground with wins for Mahaica Determinators, BV Triumph United and Ann’s Grove.
On Sunday, the feature game saw Ann’s Grove needling Golden Stars thanks to an 88th minute strike by Maxton Adams when it seemed like the game was heading for a stalemate.
Mahaica Determinators hammered Buxton Stars 4-0 led by an Azuma Roberts brace in the 36th and 90th minute. Quincy Holder converted in the 40th minute while Kirk Roberts inked his name on the score sheets two minutes later.
On Saturday, BV Triumph United edged out a game Sparta United 4-3 in an exciting encounter.
For the winners the players on target were Campton Cudjoe (5), Akim Curry (55), Kirk Abram (60) and Paul Kingston (72).
Play will continue on Friday next with a double header at the Victoria Community Centre ground from 17:00hrs when Mahaica match skills with Sparta United followed by a clash between Ann’s Grove and Buxton United.
On Sunday at the Buxton Community Centre ground another two games are slated from 14:00hrs when Buxton United takes on Golden Stars; Victoria Kings and Mahaica play in the feature game.
