Entries have started to roll in as preparation continues for the Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC) one day meet slated for Sunday 16th November at the club’s entity Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice.
With race day just under two weeks away, over 30 of the country’s top racehorses have already taken entry for what is expected to be an action packed day of racing.
Eight races are carded for the day with close to $8M at stake.
The Feature race will be for horses classified ‘C’ and lower for a $1M first prize from a total prize package of 2M and trophy with the animals set to cover a 1600M.
The other events are the F and lower 1400M event for a $500,000 purse and trophy. The 1600M race for three Year old Guyana and West Indies Bred and Born animals is also for a first prize of $500,000 and trophy.
The 1200M event for two year old Guyana and West Indies Bred horses battle for a winners money of $400,000 and trophy. The G3 and lower 1200M race for a winning purse of $400,000 and trophy.
The ‘I’ and lower horses will compete over 1200M for a winning purse of $250,000 and trophy.
The final two races are for animals classified the J and lower and K and lower over 1400M and 1200M respectively for winning takes of $200,000 and $150,000 and trophies respectively.
A number of sponsors are also on board with the Ministry of Tourism, Hand In Hand Insurance, Phagoo General Store, Qtrex International Shipping, Banks DIH, Buddy Shivraj, Jumbo Jet, Inshan Bacchus Trucking Service, Mohammed ‘Nankoo’ Shariff and Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sukhdeo among others.
Coordinator Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sookdeo is pleased with how preparations are progressing and is promising turfites a grand day of racing.
Top individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies compliments of the organizers.
