The latest round of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Hadi’s two-day first division competition ended yesterday with Police taking first innings points from GDF at Camp Ayanganna in the only match in the round.
Resuming on their overnight score of 83-3 in reply the 156 made by the Cops, GDF fell for 119 after play began almost two hours late in bright sunshine due to a damp pitch.
Marcus Watkins took his overnight 18 to 22 before he departed to start a GDF slide as pacer Seon Daniels grabbed 5-36 for Police, who reached 43-3 in their second innings when rain ended the contest at 13:40hrs.
Rawle Browne (4), Mark Persaud (1) and Shameer Fazal (14) all failed to get going as First-Class pacer Gilford Moore followed up his 2-19 in the first innings with 2-8.
