Tonight nine delegates will compete, quite literally head to head, in the Question and
Answer Segment of the Miss Guyana Universe competition. The battle of the brains will be aired live nationwide from 20:00 hours on the National Communications Network (NCN) – Channel 11, Television Guyana (TVG) – Channel 28 and Hits and Jams Television (HJTV) – Channel 72.
These ladies are expected to display their intelligence, wit and eloquence while on air with questions that will be revealed to them for the first time during the live telecast.
Competing in the Miss Guyana Universe pageant are reigning Miss Jamzone International Soyini Fraser, Former Miss Guyana Universe contestant Nikita Barker, US-based Guyanese Jyoti Hardat, Alicia Kirton, Sonia Cummings, Cardella Hamilton, Rochelle Cheddie, Lakota McPhoy and Shonette Cain.
Delegates have been in training for three months and are expected to be fully prepared for tonight’s cerebral segment.
The next event slated for these exceptional women, will be coronation night which will have the ladies compete in swimwear, evening wear and intelligence segments, and will be judged by a panel of fair and experienced judges. Also expected at this final event is the Trinidadian music sensation, Kees Dieffenthaller from Kes the Band, who will be performing a medley of his popular soca hits.
The coronation ceremony for the Miss Guyana Universe will be on Sunday, October 26 at the Pegasus Hotel and will begin at 20:00hrs. The Pageant is an annual event that will have delegates compete in swimwear, evening wear and intelligence segments.
The winner will not only receive US$10,000 but will also have the chance to represent Guyana at the 63rd Miss Universe pageant on January 25, 2015 in Doral, Florida.
