Two roommates, Junior Timmons and Eon Daniels appeared in court on Friday last, charged with simple larceny.
The men appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to address the charge set before them.
It is alleged that between September 9 and October 9, in Georgetown they stole one 50KVA pole transformer, valued at $395,253, property of Guyana Power and Light (GPL). They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Attorney-at-Law Paul Fung-a-Fat who represented both accused told the court that they are both former GPL employees who reside at 290 Thomas Street, Georgetown. Junior Timmons is 19 years old while Daniels is 49. The lawyer said that Daniels is a father of seven children. He requested bail.
Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant had no objections. The defendants were granted bail in the sum of $125,000 each. The matter was adjourned until November 14 for statements.
