Dear Editor,
Please allow me to give my two cents on what is obviously a clear case of pettiness and vindictiveness by the leaders of our dear land of Guyana. At first I did not want to get involved but recent disclosures about charges being laid against the Publisher of your newspaper and his wife have forced me to vent my anger in this manner.
One would think that the government would have embraced Lall for his leadership of the newspaper which has opened the eyes of this nation to the rampant corruption among government officials.
However they have chosen to be petty and go after him with trumped up charges for driving two Lexus SUVs.
If driving the two Lexus vehicles of his friends makes Glen Lall and his wife guilty, then so too are the GRA Commissioner General’s children who are often seen driving his duty free vehicles; so too are the wives and relatives of government officials who drive their vehicles.
All the vehicles that come into this country duty free are not being driven by the persons in whose name they came.
So it’s a shame that Kurshid Sattaur could be so petty to try and tarnish the name of someone who has been championing the fight to make Guyana an equal opportunity country.
In light of the recent revelations that have been highlighted by this newspaper, Sattaur should not wait to be fired for embarrassing the government and this entire nation; he should pack his bags peacefully and go to avoid the humiliation.
