When one criticizes officialdom one often finds oneself at the receiving end of official hostility. The reaction of a government agency against a stinging criticism by a section of the media is going to take a turn this week.
Legal experts are going to challenge the move by the government department in public. Caustic statements are going to be made, but the person who is asked to preside will not want to upset officialdom and will actually do something that will cause raised eyebrows.

Just when one thought that parents are not paying enough attention to their children, one parent is going to catch attention when she takes her daughter to task. The problem is that the state has certain rules about parenting and these rules do not necessarily coincide with what actually works.
This will not be the first parent to be sent to jail for disciplining a child.

An indisciplined driver is going to stall traffic along the highway when he tries to overtake at the height of the peak traffic. The resulting accident will further stall traffic and cause tempers to flare.
The police will take some time to clear up the mess but the loss of man-hours and property is something that a small country like Guyana should not have to bear.
