The tournament which started two weekends ago, will continue today at the President’s College tennis court as a tribute to the late Bakewell CEO, Naeem Nasir.
Nasir personally financed the construction of the tennis court there in April 2012 in support of the work of the Tennis Association and to provide students of the school and nearby villages with an opportunity to learn the great game of tennis. When contacted by Tournament Coordinator Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan, the school’s management was ready to host tournament matches on site.
The school is in for a treat when the Boys U14 finals serve off with Jordan Beaton and Heimraj Resaul. Also the 12 year old tennis prodigy Kalyca Fraser will brave the storm to take on 16 year old U18s and Ladies Champion Nicola Ramdyhan. Several Medley U10 matches will also be played at the site starting at 9:00am.
