The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has named Pre-Cadets, Mini-Cadets team that is to compete in the
Latin American Championships, October 9-14 in the Dominican Republic with GTTA General Secretary, Linden Johnson stating that the team’s participation will depend on the ever-present bugbear of funding.
Johnson was contacted yesterday to confirm selection of the team, which he did, but declined to disclose the names, opting to call back this newspaper following a GTTA meeting last night. However, up to press time Johnson was yet to make good on his commitment.
“We are looking at some players for the Latin American Championships. It all depends on if we get the money; we have a meeting this afternoon,” Johnson said when contacted. Kaieteur Sport was, however, able to get the team from a source.
The Pre-Cadets identified include Khalil Ninvalle, Tariq Saunders, Terrence Rausch and Amerit Mookram. The Girls include Amika Phillips and Celina Jackman. The mini-cadets include Kaysan Ninvalle, Niron Bisu and Joshua Khan.
