The Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) yesterday presented a bat to all-rounder Kemo Paul for his
outstanding performance during the recently concluded Regional U-19 tournament which was played in Guyana.
Secretary of the ECB, Otto Christiani, who presented the bat to Paul on Tuesday last at Everest Cricket Club, said the board recognizes the performance of Paul which will serve as an impetus for other young cricketers in the county. He encouraged the cricketer to take the game seriously and wished him well. Paul thanked the Board for the support.
He was born at Saxacalli in Essequibo, but later migrated to the island of Wakenaam where he started to play cricket competitively for Noitgedacht SC. Paul was instrumental in Guyana’s success in both forms of the game and was given the best U-19 all-rounder accolade in the tournament. He is currently playing for the Guyana Cricket Board Development Squad in the Inter County competition.
