Dear Editor,
Several parents whose children attend the Aurora Secondary School in Region Two are outraged over the use of Narcotics by some male students of the institution during normal class hours.
Just recently right in the school building the Headmistress through her own diligence was able to link three students to the illegal substance.
After a report about the incident was made at the Aurora police station, the ranks there took no part in the investigations but the officer in charge of neighbourhood ranks drove up with his vehicle and brought two of the students from the school to Aurora station. The third one was said to have escaped.
Before long the two students in custody were released without being charged which prompted an irate parent to enquire from a civilian as to how this could have happened. His response was, “The story done wipe out”.
Questions have been raised by concerned parents as to what could have been the reason for the students not being prosecuted for having narcotics in their possession. “Something play out” to pervert the course of justice.
The parents were of the opinion that some form of punishment was necessary to serve as a deterrent.
The name of the person trading with the narcotics was given but a search was never conducted on his premises.
Allegations have surfaced of two adults working along with especially Aurora police to settle criminal matters at station level for their personal gains.
Name Withheld
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
