Rice farmer,62-year-old Jhablall, a/k”Deo”, formally of Queenstown Village, Essequibo Coast, was struck down and killed by a motorcyclist on the Queenstown Public Road, over the weekend. He had already crossed the road several doors from his home when he was hit.
The 18-year-old motorcyclist, who was involved in the recent accident, was hospitalized over the weekend and is under police guard, at the Suddie Public Hospital. He is expected to be charged on Tuesday.
The teenager, Eric Tucker, was visiting the Essequibo Coast, with his Father for a funeral. He is from Alberttown, Georgetown.
Police said that Tucker, who was proceeding north on the Queenstown Public road struck and kill Jhablall. The victim sustained several broken ribs, a broken left hand and other injuries about his body.
Tucker was thrown off his motorcycle into a trench, at Queenstown. He sustained injuries to his chin. Last month, five-year-old, Rewel Roberts, of Good-Hope, Essequibo, lost his life after he was struck by a car. The Nursery School pupil was riding his bicycle in the company of his grandfather.
