The Guyana Badminton Association Banks DIH Guyana Classic International Tournament, which involves Suriname, who will contest in the Under-11, Under-13 & Under-15 Boys and Girls Events, which started yesterday and concludes today at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Today play will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
The Suriname team, which features 16 players and 19 Officials/Parents, arrived for the event and will look to make their mark.
The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) is trying to keep Badminton in the Junior level going as the top players are advancing to the higher level, hence the GBA’s thrust to get the upcoming players in form and ready to fill the spots vacated by those moving forward.
The GBA would like to thank Mr. Carlton Joao of Banks DIH for making this tournament possible along with Director of Sport Neil Kumar of the National Sports Commission.
Special thanks also go to Ms. Surujdai Ramraj and Emily Ramdhani – Secretary of the GBA, for putting all measures in place to make this tournament possible.
