The dead man has been identified as 24 year-old, Theon Smith, also known as Theon Branche, who was at the time serving a 15 year sentence for robbery under arms, possession of an illegal firearm as well as break and entry.
His attacker was identified as Akeem Edwards, also 24 years-old, was serving a similar sentence for the same offences.
According to reports, shortly before noon yesterday, Smith, who was being housed in the ‘Brick Prison’ reportedly hid a cellular phone in the roof of the walkway, but when he returned the phone was missing and he accused Edwards of stealing it.
Edwards was reportedly overheard telling Smith “a gun fix you later.”

Edwards, armed with a knife, reportedly followed Smith and repeatedly stabbed him during the altercation.
