A 58-year-old farmer, who strolled into a city supermarket on Monday and stole over $2000 in goods, has been fined $10,000 by the court for shoplifting.
Arlington James, admitted to taking two Gillette deodorants from Bounty Supermarket on Water Street, Georgetown, when he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The farmer pleaded guilty to Simple Larceny. The Prosecution was represented by Police Corporal Aduni Innis.
Gobin, a first-time offender, was fined $10,000 and issued with a reminder that he could be sent to jail for up to a fortnight if he failed to pay.
