The body of an eight year -old boy was recovered from Wauna Creek, Mabaruma Sub-Region, last evening.
The lad, said to be a student of the Hosororo Primary School reportedly drowned while he was on an outing with his relatives at the Wauna Bridge area. Residents say that the boy was last seen swimming with a group of children.
“There was a whole set of children and people swimming at the creek and nobody aint see when the boy disappear,” a resident noted.
Many persons joined in the search and scoured the Wauna Creek area for the missing lad. The body was subsequently recovered after several hours.
