An attacking century by Rawl Reid handed GT XI a mammoth 132-run victory over Shakir XI in a 20-over softball contest sponsored by Super Star XI played recently at Thirst Park.
Reid hammered twelve sixes and five fours in scoring 102; he shared in a second wicket stand of 87 with Patrick Khan who made 28, and a further 108 for the third wicket with Oslyn Batson 29 as GT XI rattled up 292-3 in 20 overs, batting first.
Shakir XI threatened somewhat, before they were bowled out for 160 in 19 overs. Mohamed Ahamad led with 38, Fazil Khan scored 22 and Ashmead Bacchus 20. Khan claimed 4-25 and Sheldon Perch 3-20. Reid was given the man of the match award and GT XI took home a trophy.
