Entries are expected to be close today for the Rising Sun Turf Club one day horserace meet in collaboration with the Inshan Bacchus Hard Runnings Trucking Service, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and racing stables and Mohammed ‘Nankoo’ Shariff Business Enterprise.
The event which is slated for next Sunday 10th August at the Rising Sun Turf Club at Arima Park, West Coast, Berbice, has so far attracted over 40 entries. This is according to coordinator Fazal Habibulla. With seven races slated for the day there are over $5M in prize money, trophies and other goodies up for the taking. The feature event this time will be for animals classified D and lower over 1600M. The first prize is $1M and a trophy. So far a star studded cast has been lined up with the likes of Treacle, Swing Easy, and California Strike; Settle in Seattle, Red and Lovely, Run Nana Run already slated to run for the coveted prize.
The other races on the days programme are – the race for three year old Guyana and West Indies Bred horses over 1400M for a winner’s money of $600,000 and trophy.
The F and lower 1400M event for a winning take of $460,000 and trophy. The 1100M race for two year old Guyana and West Indies bred horses which has a $400,000 jackpot available. The G3 and lower 1400M race for a pole position taking of $400,000 and trophy. There is the ‘I’ class 1400M event which has a first prize tag of $260,000 and trophy. The final event is for horses classified J and lower and victory in this event will see the champion taking home $200,000 in the 1100M race. So Far Banks DIH Limited and Trophy Stall Bourda Market are also on board.
The Incentives will be available for the champion jockey and trainer and stable compliments of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the organizers.
