A bumper crowd is expected to throng the venue for the Budhan’s Memorial Sports Complex grand Pre-Emancipation One day Horserace meet today at the club’s No 66 Village, Corentyne, Berbice racetrack with seven races listed.
There are a number of events for the best of the lower classes, as the meet mostly focus on the lower class horses. The list includes two races for J1 horses, two races for J3 horses and two events for horses classified K and lower.
The full lists of event are as follows:
The horses classified J1 and lower will first race for a winning purse of $160,000 and trophy over 1200M. The second J1 and lower event will see the horses racing over 1000M for a winning purse of 140,000 and trophy.
The J3 and lower horses will compete over 1200M and 1000M for first prize monies of $120,000 and $100, 000 and trophies respectively.
The K and lower events will see the horses racing over distances of 1200M and 1000M for winning monies of $100,000 and 80,000 and trophies.
The final race is for animals classified L and lower which will see the horses galloping over 1000M for take home money of $40,000 and trophy.
The track is said to be in very good condition and turfites are expected to experience an entertaining day of racing. Additional attractions will also add to the entertainment.
