A number of outstanding performances were recorded when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) held its International ‘Burnout’ Drag Race Meeting on Sunday, at the South Dakota Circuit.
The Meeting which had in attendance some of the top dragsters from Suriname saw Peter Daby, who piloted a Mazda RX 7 dominate the field to capture the ‘A’ Class event, while Surinamese Ruben Chen driving a Honda Integra was also in superb form claiming the ‘B’ Class category against strong opposition.
Other notable performances came from reigning champion Anand Ramchand, Randel Daby, Ike Langevine, Junior Khan and David Mangar, while in the Superbike division Ricardo Fagundes was in a class of his own.

F Class – 14 Second Bracket – Anand Ramchand – Toyota Vitz (# 35)
E Class – 13 Second Bracket – Junior Khan – Toyota Corolla AE91 (# 52)
D Class – 12 Second Bracket – David Mangar – Toyota Corolla (# 12)
C Class – 11 Second Bracket – Ike Langevine – Honda Civic (# 13)
B Class – 10 Second Bracket – Ruben Chen – Honda Integra (# 49)
A Class – 9 Second Bracket – Peter Daby – Mazda RX-7 (# 21)
8 Second Bracket Randel Daby – Toyota Supra (# 22) – Only competitor in this time bracket.
Superbikes – Ricardo Fagundes – Honda CBR 1000 RR (#44)
