Guyana’s Junior Jaguars lost their final game in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-17 qualifying competition to the host nation Dominican Republic 3-0 yesterday. Needing a win to be in contention to win the group, the young Guyanese faltered badly as they could not find the back of the nets while letting in three.
The lads from the Land of the Flying Fish, Barbados flew to group honours by blanking Antigua and Barbuda 2-0 to end the group with 7 points (2 wins 1 draw). Dominican Republic ended as the runner-up team with 4 points (1 win 1 draw 1 loss) the same points as Guyana with the Guyanese having to take third on goal difference.
