Guyana’s rifle shooting team Bisely, won the Junior Overseas Team shoot with a score of 408.40 beating out NewZealand
which totaled 407.49 points.
The Guyana team, coming off another successful year at the Caribbean Championships which they dominated in Jamaica in May last, was Captained by USA based Sigmund Douglas and included Caribbean King Lennox Braithwaite, National Captain Mahendra Persaud, Ransford Goodluck and Dylan Fields.
The condition under which the marksmen shot was one Sighting Shot and 7 rounds to count at 300, 500 and 600 Yards Ranges for a maximum score of 420 points. In 2010, Guyana had won the Overseas Challenge Cup at Bisely with Douglas, Persaud, Goodluck and John Fraser competing also at the 300, 500 and 600 Yards Rangers.
Braithwaite, Persaud and Goodluck will be moving on to represent Guyana at the Commonwealth Games.
