The Limacol Caribbean Premium League (CPL) is in the air and Vidya Bijlall-Sanichara, Communications Manager, Digicel (Guyana), yesterday told Kaieteur Sport that the cell phone giants had secured some much coveted time with the Guyana Amazon Warriors for a Coaching session at the Everest Cricket Ground yesterday afternoon.
“In addition to this meet and greet, the players will be engaging young cricket fans from various cricket clubs from Georgetown. This is an excellent opportunity to show the ‘Warriors care’ aspect of CPL and our home team,” Bijlall-Sanichara informed.
The players, which included Guyanese West Indies players Christopher Barnwell and Leon Johnson along with Trinidadian Navin Stuart, also conducted a coaching session for Ptolemy Reid Rehab Centre, a school for ‘special needs’ children.
Youngsters from Everest, MYO and GYO were also a part of yesterday’s session which was conducted on the Lawn Tennis Court at Everest.
