A three-member team of Martial Artists from the Harpy Eagle Academy turned in a creditable performance at the just concluded TAK Karate Championships held in Trinidad and Tobago.
The event staged on July 5th and 6th, saw Sensei Troy Bobb leading the trio which included Sensei Paul Ignatius and Junior Black Belt Rayson Gill, representing Guyana and hauling in several medals.
The Guyanese team placed second in the Team Kata. On the individual front, Rayson Gill placed 2nd in the Kata and Weapons Kata forms, while Sensei Paul Ignatius finished 2nd in the Kata, 4th in the Weapons form, but stormed back to win the Sparring.
Sensei Troy Bobb, a seasoned campaigner with several trophies overseas, won the Kata in his category, then finished 2nd in the Weapons form. The team expressed thanks to the residents of Beterverwagting, Auto Centre, Jai Signs, Kings Jewellery and Parts Plus among others who assisted them to participate in the event.
