Four policemen are now patients at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) nursing injuries they sustained from an accident on the Friendship, East Bank Demerara (EBD) Public Road around 03:10 hrs yesterday.
Injured are Police Constables Derwin Eastman, Anthony Branch, Aaron Seegobin and Rural Constable William Jeffers.
According to information received, the policemen who are all stationed at the Brickdam Police Station were on patrol duties in an unmarked police vehicle when the driver reportedly lost control and collided with a parked motor lorry on the East Bank Demerara Public Road.
Kaieteur News was told that the driver reported that he swerved from a dog and ended up crashing into the lorry which he said was badly parked on the Public Road.
At the hospital late last night, one of the four policemen said that he cannot divulge any information to the press.
