Dear Editor
With the sidelining of Vanessa Kissoon by the Peoples National Congress (PNC) one is left to ask what is actually happening in the PNC.
I believe that the sidelining of Vanessa Kissoon by the PNC Leadership is intentional as David Granger knows that should he win the next General Election he will not be able to govern Guyana without support from the business community (the majority of whom are Indian Guyanese).
Vanessa Kissoon was one of the instigators of the Linden protest/riots which led to the deaths of three Lindeners. I do not believe that she had the backing of the PNC Leadership as, not only did President Donald Ramotar not meet with them, David Granger did not meet with Lindeners during the protest/riot.
Thus, Vanessa Kissoon did not have the backing of the PNC for her rampage. The sidelining of Vanessa Kissoon is a very good strategic move as David Granger continues to court Indian Guyanese voters after his dinner with Mike Persaud. He now needs to appease the business community and Indian Guyanese voters.
So, not only does he need to sideline Vanessa Kissoon. He also needs to sideline Sharma Solomon.
The Linden protest/riot, not only cause destruction to infrastructure, also caused mistrust of the PNC as many Indian Guyanese were scared away from Linden. It will take decades to repair the damage to get Indian Guyanese (whom have the majority wealth) to invest in Linden.
