The Selection Committee of the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) has shortlisted a number of players to undergo intensive training over the next two weeks to become members of the association’s male and female squads in preparation for upcoming Inter-Association competitions.
According to Head Coach, former national captain, Levi Nedd, the list is a preliminary one and more persons can be added as time goes by. Nedd stated that the BVA’s Under 23 Squad will also be chosen from the players named. An Under 19 Squad (Male) is already involved in training.
The players named are:- Males- Ian Bagot, Luen David, Junior Jhingree, Quacy Matheson, Trevlon McRae, Shemroy Ross, Jason Seelochan, Satesh Seenauth, Mahesh Motiepersaud, Satesh Motiepersaud, Julius Seenarine, Safraaz Hussain, Errol Chase, Neehaul Sukdeo, Levian Butchey, Glenroy Clement, Jason Johnny, Zaide Quintyn, Akbar Hosein, Rohan Dhanpat, Navin Jairam, Sohan Dhanpat, and Ryan Dhoray.
The female squad includes-Vashti Pooran, Darshanie Pooran, Nadine Benjamin, Shenne Subrattie, Malika Jarvis, Tinesha Cort, Cynthia Harris, Tamala Felix, Lisa Marks and Melissa Marks.
The BVA’s Under 16 squad will be announced shortly. (Samuel Whyte)
