Mr. Jaigopaul Ram has been elected as the new President of the Institute of
Internal Auditors -Guyana Chapter following recent elections.
Ram, who is also the Director of Finance at the Guyana Water Inc., will serve for the period June 2014 – May 2015.
He has replaced Mr. Deodat Indar, Financial Controller/Company Secretary of Sterling Products Limited who served in that capacity for two terms.
The new Vice President is Mrs. Jaishree Lam, while the Chapter Secretary is Devanand Lalgie and the Treasurer Mrs. Goorwantie Devi Kaladeen.
The Governors are Ramesh Seebarran, Ramesh Dookhoo, John Seeram, Colin Thompson, Mohamed Karimullah and Deodat Indar.
Jaigopaul Ram has been with the Institute of Internal Auditors – Guyana Chapter, for the last four years and held previous positions of Treasurer and Vice President.
He said that high on his agenda is more training for auditors in the areas of risk management, more in depth internal auditing, financials and corporate governance.
Reviewing of the Institute’s by-laws, incorporation and the restructuring of the strategic plan are other key areas to be addressed.
The new registered office of the Institute of Internal Auditors – Guyana Chapter is now located at the office of the Manufacturing Manager, Sterling Products Limited, Providence, East Bank Demerara.
